To adopt giving and receiving as a way of life, without fear of being taken advantage of or seeking favor, can go a long way to releasing us from anger. Even if these gifts are small, like going out of our way to compliment someone on service or allowing someone to enter a crowded traffic lane, or expressing affection or gratitude instead of assuming someone knows how we feel, the effect is to spread goodwill, just as rude and inconsiderate behavior spreads anger.
Somewhere along the line, “dickish stoicism” became synonymous with “manliness.”

The smaller man with the weaker constitution will consciously cause damage so that he might gain favor or footing.
Be the bigger man.
