Grateful Sunday #79: Laboring

Today I’m simply grateful to have a job, and by contrast that I am able to enjoy having time off from said job.

Will be spending the day tomorrow catching up with a close friend from college and sharing BBQ with his family.

Even if your particular life/livelihood doesn’t grant you a complete reprieve this holiday weekend, it is still best practice to find a small gratitude for what you do have, rather than be overcome with bitterness by what you don’t.

In conjunction with my deep-seated approach to music as spiritual therapy, I think more and more I realize that gratitude is also a version of my Higher Power.  At the end of the day, if my expectations have all been turned upside-down and I’m on the brink of a mental abyss…it is gratitude that walks me back down.

Today I’m simply grateful to be grateful, too.
