Guest Post #2: Emily – Joys & Encouragement

Hi Internet,

I don’t know how Tom does it! I already lost the ‘every day’ game! I will attribute this to a few unforeseen circumstances (as well as writer’s block).

“Talk about your joys.” As in, talk about what makes you happy; stop complaining.  This is good, good!

But I’m here to say more. I want to talk about YOUR joys, and I want YOU to talk about mine. Let’s lift each other up!
The best thing you can do for me is encourage me, support me — and I will encourage & support you. Deal? Great! This is easy because we are probably friends and we definitely have things in common.

So, let’s take it a step further. I want you to encourage and support people you don’t know so well. Ask them questions. Engage. Recognize that this person you do not know is a beautiful wealth of knowledge and history.

Ready for this? You knew it was coming…I want you to support that person who you don’t even like. The annoying coworker, the mean cashier…each a beautiful wealth of knowledge and history.  Engage, encourage, help them see their light. Lift them up!

Let’s root for each other.
