Kitchen Sink

“People tend to reel their bloopers a lot more often than their trailers, right?”

Emily slicing off this nugget of wisdom in the kitchen as we casually but mindfully reflect in the kitchen after a long day of work, life, dinner, music, and more life.

We tend to recall our most embarrassing moments, our biggest failures, our deepest disappointments over our greatest triumphs, loves, and successes.  Harp on the worst of what was, opine for what could have been…but we probably deserve to give ourselves a little more credit.

I think humans have an OK capacity to forgive others.  I think humans have a shit capacity to forgive themselves.  No amount of fussing will ever change what once was.  The bigger the willingness to forgive, the more room for new developments you make.

Don’t let hurt pride or bruised ego stand in the way of becoming your best self.  Those are exclusively inner-mental blockades…but they are not permanent walls.

All you need to do is lift yourself up over them and be on your way to brighter days.  Account for the present by moving purposefully from the past so you might have a future.
