Am I rite, folks?
Nah, not really. It’s just another day. Sure, maybe your livelihood dictates that you go back to “work” after two days “off” (and that’s only if you’re a traditionalist…in this economy? we take what we can get — or maybe we just disregard those antiquated notions altogether).
So what? If you choose to resign yourself to being miserable simply for that fact, roughly 1/7th of your life’s Happiness Potential may go unrealized.
The trick to life is finding creative, resourceful ways to fill in those cracks (i.e. a downtrodden Monday) where negative, self-destructive, or otherwise harmful thoughts may begin to slip through. Be productive, despite your brain’s best efforts to drag you down.
And if all your own projects leave you uninspired, lend a hand elsewhere — there certainly is no shortage of volunteer work that would benefit our communities & neighborhoods. At the end of the day a lot of what I spend my time doing is self-serving. I would argue this is because I’m doing good work to ‘find’ myself…but on the other hand, sometimes losing yourself in other people can be the best way to truly find ‘you.’
The Point: don’t let ‘Monday’ be Mundane. If it’s a day that ends in “Y,” somewhere in those 24 hours lies a chance at progress & success. Take it.
