The firing of a million guns.

Get inspired.  Make moves.  Fuel passions.  Never back down.  Aim to excel.  Do one thing each day that scares you.  Go left instead of right.  Blaze your own trail.  Fight the good fight.  Acknowledge your convictions.  Be the change you want to see.  If you will it, it is no dream.

Having spent a full month unable to do any real kind of intensive exercise alongside consuming 3 full meals a day means that my muscles are in atrophy and I have put on weight.  One of my goals for my recovery is to get into the best shape of my life.  My last physical peak was probably football season of senior year in high school.  It’s time to do something about that.  I often fall prey to the deadly sin of sloth; hence, I am working daily to combat my laziness with unyielding mental self-motivation.

My workout of choice is jogging, with my headphones as my running partner.  Pounding basslines pumping in my ears almost automatically keep my feet hitting the pavement.  The endorphins released in the body during an intense session are physical & mental ecstasy.  However, as I am still very vulnerable in the early stages of recovering from one addiction, I must be cautious of simply replacing it with another.  So I will monitor myself & my progress (and this is a great website that aids in accomplishing that: http://runkeeper.com/ – thanks Em).  But I have set goals for myself, and I intend to keep them.  I will utilize my strength of willpower to ensure I do not deter, that I do not fail myself.

And of course, this guy knows what I’m talkin’ about:
